Swimming with Whale Sharks at Ningaloo

And we are again on the way to West Australia this time for a domestic tour. Over a couple of days, four of us were heading through the South to Perth before heading north to Exmouth. It was lucky to have been a warm day, with a fairly quiet seas, which significantly enhances the likelihood of seeing the sharks, that we booked long ahead of time for our cruise to Ningaloo.

That is achieved by a spotter plane and on the cruise boat in two forms and 20 of our guests set off to the 60foot restored yacht "Highland Spirit," which was quite relaxed with five Ningaloo whaleshark N Dive crew (welcome to send them the free plug), but it was a tad frustration to skip Swimimmg with whale sharks in a whale hog on the newest Windcheetah catamaran, which is usually 55 feet long.

We snorkeling between coral and coral reef for around 30 minutes but, above all, took the opportunity to check our snorkeling equipment and wetsuits, which were necessary (and compulsory) given the prevalence of the jellyfish in that area. We took about 45 minutes, from there, to move out of the coral to the popular shark viewing area expecting the first shark's call from the spotters. It is also the protocol of those of you unfortunate people who never had the experience by diving with sharks and we were happily told by our visitors with 99.99% of you.

We were split into two 10 classes, and each party was ready to jump into while signalling on the marlin platform at the backside of the ships. The guide, who decides where the Shark is safe, then sent out a warning to the group leader who then ordered the ten swimmers to dive in Whale Sharks with two larger escorts whale shark with two bigger escorts sea shark on to larger escorts straight to the shark.

Words can not explain what the Scout felt about a 6-7-meter whale shark gliding serenely below you was exulting from this first sightings. We were incredibly pleased because there were more than a dozen sightings because day over a two hour span and that each party had a chance to have a half dozen dives.

With each successive dive, we became sure that we knew the sharks ' behaviors, which usually allowed us to stay and observe them for a longer period. I started to dislike the highly overused term ' awesome ' by the younger generation, but it could be an exact summary of this Whale Shark diving experience once!
